Welcome to Julie's Page

Thanks again for visiting my link for the St. Stephens Volunteer Fire Department.  I have been a Girl Scout since I was in kindergarten and was a Daisy.  The Girl Scout Gold Award is equivalent to the Eagle Scout award that is earned by Boy Scouts.  Girl Scouts cannot apply to work towards their Gold Award until they are 15 - 18 years of age and must be in the 9th - 12 th grade.  I have already earned my Bronze and Silver Awards as well as completed a journey service project.  These projects as well must be completed before I can apply to work towards my Gold Award.  It takes allot of dedication and work to earn this award but I am determined to meet this goal.  In addition, I must do my own fundraising and work with a budget to help achieve my award.

My family has been involved for over 20 years with the volunteer fire service that St. Stephens provides.  Not only do they provide fire protection to our community, they also provide medical first response and medium rescue services as well.  Did you know that 71% of all firefighters in the United States are still volunteers according to the National Fire Protection Association.  These are men and women that give a tremendous amount of their own time and risk their lives to protect the people in their communities.  Most communities in the US today are still served by only volunteer fire departments.

I would like to work toward my Gold Award by giving back to the department and community that has been a part of my life for so many years.  I want to let my community know that they are protected by a volunteer fire department and give them the opportunity to give back as well.  The St. Stephens Fire Department would like to have a firefighter at the station 24/7 in the coming years.  In order to do this they will need some of the comforts of home and I would like to help give them that opportunity.  Some of the NEW items I am trying to obtain are:

Kitchen Items:                         Miscellaneous Items:

  • Pots                                         *  Towels (Hand/Bath/Wash--White)
  • Pans                                        *  Full Size Sheets (White)
  • Bowls                                      *  Full Size Mattress Pads & Covers
  • Plates                                       *  Full Size Bead Spreads and Blankets
  • Coffee Cups                             *  Lamps
  • Silverware                                *  Bibles for Nightstands
  • Cooking Utensils                       *  Gear Racks for Engine Bay
