| On Thursday afternoon severe thunderstorms caused damage in parts of northeast Hickory. Hardest hit was an area around Sulphur Springs Road and Wandering Lane. Several lines were reported down and many trees were damaged due to high winds. The high winds also caused a trampoline to be thrown through the air and become entangled in power, phone, and cable lines. Representatives from the various utility companys were called upon to remove the trampoline and repair downed lines. There were no injuries reported due to the storm.
