On Saturday October 15th, the St. Stephens Fire Department celebrated the grand opening of the addition and renovations to our Station 2 which will now become our headquarter station. The day began with a building dedication ceremony where the Chief and special guests spoke and the Catawba County Fire Association Honor Guard presented the nations colors. The dedication was finalized by a ribbon cutting where all guests and members of the public were welcomed through the front doors for a tour of the new facility. The day consisted of tours of the station along with various apparatus displays and many live demonstrations including vehicle extrication, fire extinguisher and sprinkler use, and Med Center Air even landed a helicopter out back for all to see. The St. Stephens Ladies Auxiliary was on hand selling baked goods and providing refreshments for the public.

This day was a wonderful testimony of the hard work and dedication of the membership of the St. Stephens Fire Department and a large step towards the future of fire protection for our community. The St. Stephens Fire Department would like to thank the community for their support in the years past and in the years to come. We would also like to thank all those involved in assisting with the open house and dedication ceremony.
